On Saturday morning, unidentified miscreants shot dead a leader of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in Bhagalpur district of Bihar, reports said.
According to the report, at least 6 bike-borne miscreants came and opened several rounds of bullets at Yadav, while Yadav was sitting along with few others at Naugachia market.
An eye-witness told the media that the RJD leader died on the spot.
Bihar Police said that the initial investigation suggested personal enmity as the cause behind the killing.
Yadav was known as a famous underworld don in Naugachia subdivision of Bhagalpur district, Bihar. Yadav was a criminal before he took up politics and was locally known as ‘bahubali’ for the kind of power he wields in the area.
The deceased Vinod Yadav was an active leader in RJD and had played a key role in assembly elections and Lok Sabha.
The supporters of Vinod Yadav blocked roads and burnt tyres to protest the attack.
The leader of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Ashok Jaiswal was shot dead three days ago in Danapur locality in Patna, Bihar.
