Chinese handset maker has finally launched their much awaited smart watch today. This new smart watch will be available in the market with the name “ Meizu Mix” and is also listed on the Chinese website named Toabao.
This watch will be available in three entirely different variants: Leather, Denim and stainless Steel. All these three variants are going to have different kind of straps. It will be available in two colors i.e black and silver, both the colors are all time “in”.
If you are expecting it to have full digital display then you may have to be disappointed a little as it doesn’t support full digital display like most of the watches offer today viz Moto 360 or Samsung Gear S2. Even the dial of the watch bears quite some similarity with the dials of the other normal mechanical watches.
You must be thinking that what is “Smart” about this watch then let us inform you that it includes LED notification light, Bluetooth V4.0 LE support, vibration motor etc. To use this smart watch one has to use the Meizu Watch app and has to connect his watch with this app.
Just like the other watches it is water resistant and can easily withstand the tidal force up to 30meters under the water. To power the operations of this watch, company has used 270mAh battery capacity. Meizu claims that the battery life of this watch is quite appreciable and it can easily keep the watch working for 240days. One of the reasons for a longer battery life is the absence of the “digital display”.
Though company doesn’t tout but reports suggest that Sapphire Glasses has been used to build this watch in Switzerland. It also comprehends accelerometer and gyroscope for the activity tracking feature.
When it will be available and what is the price of this watch?
Company has not spilled any information regarding the sale commencement of this watch but rumors suggest that it can hit the stores from the month of October.
Prices of the variants are as we have mentioned below:
- Denim variant: INR 10,200 or RMB 999
- Leather variant: INR 13,200 or RMB 1,299
- Steel variant: INR 15,200 or RMB 1,499
Is it really a smart watch?
We can’t really say that it is a smart watch because having a fitness tracker and smart inbuilt alert system doesn’t make any watch as a smart watch. It doesn’t even have a display like a normal smart watch and just carries basic set of features offered by a smart watch.
