On Sunday, an FIR was registered against the opposition leader MK Stalin and other MLAs of DMK party who had protested outside the premises of Assembly and inside the Tamil Nadu Secretariat.
A case had been registered in Fort Police station because the MLAs of DMK party gathered inside the premises without permission.
The MLAs of DMK party had protested inside the secretariat on 18th and 19th August to allow them inside the assembly premises to go to the office of Stalin.
The case was registered against 40 MLAs on 18th August and 60 MLAs on 19th August.
On 17th August, the Speaker of Tamil Nadu Assembly expelled the MLAs of DMK party for a week from entering the assembly for continuous disruption of proceedings.
The Finance Minister of State and Leader of the House O. Paneerselvam moved a resolution seeking suspension of all DMK MLAs present in the House for a week. The resolution was adopted by the House because the ruling party is in the majority.
The disruption triggered after one of the AIADMK MLAs Gunasekaran passed a remark on the Nammaku Namme roadshow of Stalin.
Marshals physically carried Stalin out of the assembly building where reporters surrounded the entrance to question the opposition leader.
Stalin told the media that today’s action by the ruling party and the speaker of the assembly is yet another example of the attitude the AIADMK (towards opposition).
