Officials said early in September in Kolkata, Nalini has been asked to appear before the Investigating Officer of the case where the statement of Nalini is expected to be recorded under the provisions of the PMLA Act.

According to the official sources said that the particular matter with a Supreme Court Lawyer – Nalini pertains to the legal fee paid to her by the Sharadha group.

According to the sources said that the amount in question is Rs 1.26 crore and the ED wants to understand the exact flow of funds from Sharadha company accounts to her and the contract made therein.

Earlier, ED and CBI had questioned her in this regard but sources claimed that   she has been summoned on the basis of new evidence.

Saradha Chairman Sudipta Sen who is at present in jail, had mentioned about hiring Nalini as a lawyer at the request of Manoranjana Sinh who is the estranged wife of Congress leader Mantang Sinh.

Nalini represented Manoranjana. Therefore, she was asked to offer her professional advice in her negotiations with Sudipta Sen in related to plans by the group to acquire a TV channel in the northeast.

The lawyer is believed to have advised her client against the Rs 42-crore investment by the group to acquire the TV channel.

Early in a special PMLA court in Kolkata, ED has filed a charge sheet in this case and it is working to file more similar complaints in the future.
