Czech: Assassination attempt on German Chancellor Angela Merkel thwart

Prague: During visit to the capital of Czech Republic, an assassination attempt on German Chancellor Angela Merkel has been foiled as the Czech police detained an arm man who tried to join her motorcade.

On Thursday, Police spokesman Josef Bocan says that the criminal has been detained. He said that the perpetrator suspected to cause a crime especially an attempt to use violence against the official.

He said that currently the incident is being investigated by the Prague detectives.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel was in Prague to meet the Prime minister of Czech Bohuslav Sobotka. She was travelling to city from the airport when the suspicious black Mercedes appeared.

The driver denied to obey the orders coming from the police vehicle accompanying the German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

The suspect person tried to enter the motorcade and cut off a police vehicle that was trying to stop him. When the police warned of shooting him, then he only stopped and got out of the vehicle.

The incident comes as Europe remains on high alert after a series of terror attacks over the past 12 months.

Germany, Belgium and France have been attacked by the terror outfit ISIS claiming hundreds of lives.
