ChampOne Communications company has announced the ChampOne S1 smartphone in India at a tag price of Rs 501. In the past, we have seen similar cheap smartphone announcement in India, so we are not surprised with the price. These include the Freedom 251, Docoss X1, and Namotel Acche Din.
ChampOne Communications is a certified company with MCA India. It’s first-ever smartphone comes with a tag of ‘Made in India’ but will it actually start selling and shipping the smartphone is a separate story.
Specifications: Smartphone ChampOne S1 will feature a 5-inch HD IPS display and It will be powered by a MediaTek MT6735 1.3GHz quad-core processor. It supports a 2 GB of RAM. There will be 16 GB of on board internal storage along with a microSD expansion slot up to 64 GB cards.
In new cheap phone, there will be an 8 Mega Pixel rear facing camera. The device supports a 5 Mega Pixel front facing camera for better selfies. One feature that really sets the smartphone apart is the fingerprint scanner, something which was only seen on smartphone priced at Rs 6,000 and above.
But, the company says that the current price of the device is only promotional and once the smartphone is launched, it will be priced around Rs 8,000.
Interested buyers can register themselves on ChampOne’s website for the flash sale. Once registrations are done by the customers, customers get a chance to buy the smartphone for Rs 501 on the first flash sale slated for 2nd September 2016. The offer is available only for Cash on Delivery(COD).
But when we went to the website of company and noticed that apart from the smartphone, there is also an Android based smartwatch that will be launching soon.
There was also a message on the website of ChampOne that we are facing technical issue with our payment gateway partner [Ccavenue (Avenues India Pvt. Ltd.)]. You would not be able to register for the application for next 24 hours. We sincerely regret for your inconvenience and would try to get it fixed as soon as possible. Thank you for your support.
