DUSU Polls: ABVP wins big bags top three posts, NSUI makes a comeback after 2 years

New Delhi: Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad(ABVP) – a student wing of Bharatiya Janata Party swept the Delhi University Student’s Union(DUSU) polls by winning top three posts on Saturday.

List of DUSU polls winners:

ABVP candidate Amit Tanwar elected as president.

ABVP candidate Priyanka Chabri elected as vice president.

ABVP candidate Ankit Sangwan elected as secretary.

Mohit Sangwan – a candidate of National Students Union of India (NSUI) which is the student wing of Congress party, won the Joint Secretary post.

More than 36% of students exercised their rights on Friday in the keenly contested DUSU polls with the voting percentage recording a dip of over 7 percent from last year’s overall turnout of 43.3%.

ABVP had swept all four seats trouncing NSUI and AAP’s Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti (CYSS) last year. The student wing of AAP – CYSS did not contest the polls this year.
