New Delhi: On Monday, Union Cabinet approved the much-delayed cadre restructuring for the officers of the Border Security Force (BSF) leading to creation of 74 posts, an exercise aimed at enhancing administrative capabilites and operational of the force.
As per the statement of the government that the Cabinet has approved the cadre review of group ‘A’ Executive officers of BSF with 74 posts of various ranks from Assistant Commandant to Additional Director General(ADG) ranks to increase the administrative and operational capabilities of Border Security Force.
The restructuring will lead to the creation of a maximum of 370 posts in the ranks of Deputy Inspector General, 14 in Assistant Commandant, 19 in Inspector General, Commandant and Second-in-Command followed by 330 in Deputy Commandant rank, and 1 post will be created in the Additional Director General rank.
Cadre restructuring in an organisation also helps in getting better work productivity from them in the interest of the department.
But, the officials said that the latest policy decision will not fully ease the issue of stagnation because under the restructuring few posts will be reserved for officers of the Indian Police Service (IPS)
