Customs catches 75+ iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus Smuggler at Delhi IGI Airport

New Delhi: If you want iPhone 7 or iPhone 7+ before the launch in India, you have to spend a little more money in Gaffar market or Lajpat Nagar Market. The Customs officials at Indira Gandhi International Airport had caught a smuggler who smuggles the iPhone 7 or 7+ in India. The customs officials confiscated the more than 75 iPhone 7 and iPhone 7+ from the smuggler. It’s not the first time, but in other countries, some smugglers of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7+ had been the arrest in the recent days.

According to the source of Customs officials, the cost of confiscated iPhone is approx. Rs. 46 Lakhs. This iPhone was smuggled from Hong Kong. The smugglers sold these phone in the local market of Delhi like Gaffar market or Lajpat Nagar market. In an interrogation with the smuggler, the smuggler said that he smuggled the phone many times from many countries.

Deputy Commissioner of Customs Department – Govind Garg said that on Saturday, we arrested the accused from the Terminal 3 of IGI Airport. We recovered many iPhone from his bag. The accused confessed that he sold these iPhone to an unknown person in vast sums.

There is a huge demand of these phone in the black market of India. An another official of customs said that this iPhone is not available in India right now, so sellers can sell it in a big amount. The cost of iPhone 7 in India is almost Rs. 70,000/-. But according to model and memory, dealers sell these iPhone in Rs. 80,000/- to Rs. 1 Lakhs.
