Film Critic and Trade Analyst – Taran Adarsh tweeted on Wednesday that Two Hindi films, Ajay Devgan starrer Shivaay and Aishwarya Rai-starrer Ae Dil Hai Mushkil would not be released in Pakistan.
Taran Adarsh said that he was told about this development by Reliance Entertainment and Fox Star Studios, the distributors of Shivaay and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, respectively.
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil features Pakistani actor Fawad Khan. This movie found itself at the eye of a political storm in India after the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) said that it would not allow movies starring Pakistani artistes to be released. The MNS gave threat after the terrorist attack in Uri. In Uri Attack, 19 jawans were martyred and LeT took the responsibility of the attack.
Yesterday, according to the reports of PTI that Pakistani exhibitors and distributors had been thinking about lifting their self-imposed ban on Indian movies after Shivaay and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil were issued No-Objection Certificates by the commerce ministry of Pakistan.
The ban on these movie in Pakistan was a response to the Indian Motion Pictures Producers’ Association’s seeking to ban Pakistani artists and technicians working in India after last month’s cross-border Uri terror attack.
