Maharashtra Second Phase Municipal Council Election Results 2016

Counting of votes is ongoing in the second phase of Maharashtra Municipal Council Election 2016. The result of the Maharashtra Municipal Council Election Results 2016 is scheduled to be declared by the evening of today. Polling was held in 324 seats in 14 municipal councils in the second phase of Maharashtra organised by the local body elections.

As many as 1,326 candidates were in the fray for the 324 seats in 14 municipal councils. An impressive 72.18 per cent voter turnout was registered in this second phase of the election. Voting was held in cities like, Baramati, Talegaon-Dabhade, Lonavala, Daund, Junnar, Shirur, Alandi, Saswad, Jejuri, and Induapur municipal councils in Pune district and the polling was conducted in municipal councils of Udgir, Ahmedpur, Ausa and Nilanga in Latur district. The major contest is goes on between ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

Maharashtra first phase of the Municipal Board of Council Result completed before a few days back and the second phase of the Municipal Board of Council voting stars on Wednesday 14th December 2016.

The second Phase of Maharashtra Municipal Council results counting of Vote had a kick stars from 08.00 AM morning on 15th December 2016.

Within late afternoon result will be officially declared for 324 councillors and 14 municipal council presidents in Latur and Pune districts, 1,326 candidates are in competition for 324 councillors seats and 106 candidates are in the contest for the Municipal Council President for Two District.

Baramati – 39 seats – 171 candidates – Council President (7)
Talegaon-Dabhade – 26 seats – 51 candidates – Council President (2)
Lonavala – 25 seats – 111 candidates – Council President (6)
Daund – 24 seats – 112 Candidates – Council President (9)
Shirur – 21 seats – 72 candidates – Council President (5)
Alandi – 18 seats – 57 Candidates – Council President (8)
Jejuri – 17 seat – 53 Candidates – Council President (5)
Indapur – 17 Seat – 77 candidates – Council President (7)

Latur District

Ahmedpur municipality – 23-seat – 115 candidates – Council President (6)
Ausa – 20 seat – 101 candidates – Council President (13)
Nilanga – 20 Seats – 100 Candidates – Council President (7)

BJP catalogue victory winning the highest number of seats at 893, out of the total 3,727 seats in the first phase of municipal council elections and the saffron party also won 51 municipal chief’s posts, followed by Shiv Sena with 25, Congress 23 and NCP with 18 posts.

In the first phase, election to 147 municipal councils and 17 Nagar Panchayats across 25 districts in Maharashtra, were held on November 27, and results were declared on 28 November
