Several months ago, a 46-year-old man raped a 17-year old girl in Chikkanayakanahalli town of Tumkur district, Karnataka. As per the report that the incident came to light only when the girl was known to be pregnant.
As per the report that then the victim girl informed one of her teachers at the government school and the block education officer filed a complaint in the police.
According to the report that the victim girl is a distant relative of the accused Jayaram. The rape victim girl used to live in his house at Banashankari Badavane area. The accused Jayaram and his wife had stopped the education of the victim girl. She had studied only up to Standard 6.
After the medical tests of the rape victim girl at the government hospital, the victim was found five months pregnant.
Now, the local police have arrested the accused Jayaram and arrested him under the POCSO act.
