Facebook soon launches an app for watching its videos on big screen

Facebook – the king of the social media in the world, is launching an app for smart TVs. The app will help the users of the social network enjoy its videos on a bigger screen.

In a blog post on Tuesday, the tech giant Company Facebook said that the app will roll out soon from app stores for Apple TV, Samsung Smart TV and Amazon Fire TV.

Users of the Facebook can scroll through their news feed and simultaneously watch videos on their timeline.

Sound also fades in and out as one scrolls through videos in news feed now. Videos in news feed have previously played silently — one needed to tap on a video to hear its sound.

In the last month, as per the Wall Street Journal reports that Facebook was creating an app for TV set-top boxes that would bring the company closer to video advertisement and live video.

During a post-earning call, Mark Zuckerberg who is the Facebook Chief Executive said that the company expected a major ramp-up in hiring and others spending during 2017 as it invests in video and other priorities.

In the previous year, the company expanded its live video product, Facebook Live. now the Facebook Live is a potential threat to broadcast television.
