Latest News: Two Indian clerics return from Pakistan

Two Sufi clerics of Delhi’s Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah, who were missing in Pakistan, now returned safely to India.

The two clerics are Asif Nizami and Nazim Nizami belongs to Delhi’s Hazrat Nizamuddin dargah.

Both of them expected to meet Minister Sushma Swaraj after arrival at Delhi airport.

Swaraj spoke to Nazim on Sunday- “I just spoke to Nazim Ali Nizami in Karachi. He told me that they are safe and will be back in Delhi tomorrow”.

On 13th March, they travelled to Pakistan to meet their relatives in Karachi and later to Lahore to offer a chadar at Farid’s shrine.

On 14th March, they offered  another chadar at the Sufi shrine in Lahore.

On 15th March, when they reached the airport to return for Karachi, Nazim was stopped to clear some documents and Syed Asif was asked to board the flight.One of them went missing in Karachi and the other in Lahore. The families of the clerics in India tried to contact them but their mobiles have been switched off.

Both clerics had been in ‘interior Sindh where there was ‘no network’ and that is why they are unable to contact.A personnel took both the clerics into custody and shifted them to a location for investigation, they had been detained for their links with Altaf’s Muttahida Qaumi Movement.
