Live Updates: Delhi MCD Election Result 2017 Who Will Win BJP, Congress or AAP?

MCD election result of 2017 is all set to come out. It is a major question whether BJP will win in Delhi or Congress and AAP will surprise the pollsters? The result of 272 wards of three civic bodies in Delhi —SDMC, NDMC, and EDMC – will be out on Wednesday. Even as exit polls have predicted that there will be a clear win for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the MCD election 2017. The saffron party is competing with the leading parties, including, AAP, Congress, and others. The nail-biting result of the election is yet to announce tomorrow.

The run-up to the election was controversial. As Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, has reportedly, alleged EVM issue even on the day of the poll. The Congress was hit by an inner uprising, while the BJP had denied tickets to all sitting ward members. The controversies, however, still are floating post elections too.

On Monday, Kejriwal trashed exit poll results and said that he will launch a “movement” if the predictions come true. “If such results come then it proves that manipulation has happened, like in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Pune, Mumbai, Bhind, and Dholpur. We are the product of a movement. We are not here to enjoy the pleasures of power. We will return to movement”, he said to various media.

As per various reports, it is now probably almost certain that AAP would reject the MCD election result if it loses in front of the BJP, or even the Congress and the controversy over the EVMs may go on. The ABP C-voter exit poll has predicted 218 out of 272 seats and 58% votes for the BJP, while the AAP is having only with 18% votes on its kitty with 24 seats. The Congress may get 22 seats with 10% votes.

Another exit poll by Aaj Tak-Axis My India has predicted that the BJP may get 202-220 seats, while the AAP and Congress are perhaps having 23-35 and 19-31 seats respectively. According to a survey by Delhi University’s Developing Countries Research Centre (DRCC), BJP may receive around 214 seats, while the AAP may get 29 and the Congress just 24.

Both Congress and AAP leaders are convinced that the actual result might be different from what has been predicted till now. The Congress’ Delhi state president Ajay Maken had predicted on 21st April that his party would win up to 208 seats in the recently contested MCD polls.

“As per an internal survey conducted with a sample size of 52,000 voters in 13,000 polling booths, Congress will win 208 wards among a total of 272 in three municipal corporations,” Maken said to the news agency PTI. The Congress leader had even attacked BJP and AAP for running a “negative campaign”.

A similar internal survey was done by AAP which has predicted that the party would win 218 of 272 wards in Delhi. It had predicted that the BJP will be having 39 seats and the Congress will be having eight seats.

On 23rd April, before the election, Kejriwal had posted a video on Facebook in which he shares that the Delhites can face serious diseases like dengue and chikungunya if BJP gets to rule the MCD again. These vector-borne diseases have been in the capital city for last few years, Kejriwal claimed so.

The AAP government in Delhi blames the BJP, which has been ruling the MCD for the last 10 years for the entire hygiene affliction in the city. In contrast, the BJP blames AAP government of choking the MCD and the party also said that AAP is failed to release adequate fund of the city.

Blame-game apart, the exit polls predicted that perhaps BJP may return to rule the MCD and the party will get a majority too. If the exit polls are proved wrong, then AAP or Congress may win MCD polls while BJP would have to be content with the result and focus on the upcoming Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh assembly polls.
