AAP Health Minister Satyendra Jain Fined Rs. 25,000 By Supreme Court :- The member of Aam Aadmi Party and Health Minister of Delhi – Satyendra Jain has been fined Rs. 25,000/- by Supreme Court for failing to submit a list of government officials that he has alleged have not cooperated with him on controlling Dengue and Chikungunya in the capital. The apex court said that People are dying. As Delhi grapples with a major health crisis with around 8,000 cases of the mosquito-borne chikungunya and dengue reported, In his response to the court, health minister Satyendar Jain had alleged that officials were hindering his attempts to control the viral diseases, and were instead sending files to the LG of Delhi.

Supreme Court on Friday had asked the minister to list the names of the officers allegedly not cooperating with him, and saying that you have made a serious allegation in your affidavit. Who are the officials disobeying you? People in Delhi are suffering from dengue and chikungunya. You cannot treat them like this.
The Supreme court also said that the Delhi government need not give the names of the officials in sealed cover.

The complaint of health minister Mr Jain was in response to the query of Supreme Court on what was being done to check the diseases, which have claimed at least 10 lives in the capital this season. The court has taken up the matter suo motu or on its own.

The Central Government has told the Supreme court that it is the duty of the Delhi government to ensure that the national capital remains clean and free from diseases like vector borne disease Chikungunya and Dengue.

The AAP convenor and chief minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal has been engaged in a bitter power tussle with the Central government mainly with the PM Modi and its representative in the capital Lieutenant General Najeeb Jung ever since his AAP swept the Delhi assembly elections last year and formed government in the state.
