National Security Adviser Ajit Doval is going to carry on with his role in the new government at Centre. At present, he has now been given a Cabinet rank for the NSA’s role.
Ajit Doval has been now chosen as the NSA for an additional five years. As per to the government sources, Ajit Doval’s work in the earlier government has earned him the Cabinet rank in the another chapter of the Modi government. He was previously employed in the Minister of State rank.
Previously, the 74 year old Ajit Doval supervised the Intelligence Bureau (IB) in advance of his retirement. Doval took on the new role of NSA in the year 2014.
India conducted two of the most noteworthy anti-terror operations under the supervision of Ajit Doval in the previous few years. In the year 2016, the Indian Army held the surgical strikes on Pakistan in the consequences of the Uri terror attack while in the year 2019, the Indian Air Force (IAF) conducted airstrikes in Pakistan after the Pulwama terror attack.
For the Modi government, Ajit Doval is seen as the man of all seasons. He is also attributed with cracking the Doklam standoff in the middle of India and China in the yaer 2017 when the two nations were engaged in a bitter turf war for more than a few months.

Ajit Kumar Doval, KC, IPS (Retd) is the 5th and present National Security Advisor to the Indian Prime Minister. Doval was born in the year 1945 in Ghiri Banelsyun village in Pauri Garhwal in a Garhwali family in the erstwhile United Provinces, which is at present comes in Uttarakhand. Doval’s father, Major G N Doval, was an officer in the Indian Army.
He earlier served as the Director of the Intelligence Bureau from the year 2004 to 2005, after spending a decade as the head of its operation wing. Under the supervision of Ajit Doval, 2016 Indian Line of Control strike on 29th Sept, 2016 and 2019 Balakot airstrike on 26th Feb, 2019 were successfully conducted.
Doval was also considered to be the youngest police officer to collect the Police Medal for commendable service. He was given this award after his six years in the police. Later on he was also awarded the President’s Police Medal. In the year 1988, Doval was awarded one of the highest gallantry awards, the Kirti Chakra, turning out to be the first police officer to get a medal earlier given only as a military honour.
