The Indian Army suspended the Amarnath Yatra for one day. Today, no pilgrim was allowed to visit the kashmir valley from Jammu city to perform the pilgrimage. Because there was a tension in Kashmir valley after the military killed a terrorist in an encounter named as Burhan Wani.
The senior officials said in Jammu city that no pilgrims was allowed to move from Bhagawati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu city towards the Kashmir valley due to the tension in the valley following the killing of Burhan wani who was a Hizbul Mujahideen commander.
The holy Amarnath Yatra shall remain delayed, until the situation will be reviewed later by the military forces.
Till now, 80,000 pilgrims have had darshan of the Shiv Lingam inside the cave shrine in Kashmir Himalayas.
The holy cave is situated at 3,888 metres above the sea level. The holy cave shrine houses an ice stalagmite structure that wanes and waxes with the phases of the moon.
Mobile Internet services were also suspended in the valley.
