Reports are coming that an angered mob attacked police station in Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur town early on Wednesday. Sources are saying that they are demanding that police should give them accused a 20-year-old man who molested a 9-year-old girl. The angry mob got a lot of people including relatives and family of the girl. They pelted stones at policemen and set fire to as many as 22 vehicles in Old Guntur police station.
Sources are claiming that Guntur superintendent of police Ch Vijaya Rao, who said the preliminary investigation revealed that it was not a rape but a molestation attempt. Also, he added that they are going to do whatever is legal under the law of Indian constitution. Also, he added that “We have booked a case. The situation is now under control.”
Police reports are saying that K Raghu allegedly attempted to rape the girl who was alone at her house adjacent to his residence in Balajinagar of Old Guntur area on Tuesday morning. Also, some sources are saying that the 2nd class student managed to escape and hid behind a water tank before returning home in the afternoon. Also, some sources are saying after that when she complained that to her parents about the sexual assault on her, they immediately alerted relatives and locals who raided Raghu’s house but could not find him.
Also, the sources are saying that the accused Raghu immediately surrendered Old Guntur police station fearing an attack from the girl’s relatives. After the locals came to the police station at around 10 pm and demanded that the accused be handed over to him. Obviously, Police told them that they aren’t going to handover him and a case had been filed against Raghu and investigation was on.
