Apple completely Removes its own Product ratings from Website

Recently, the Cupertino based company Apple Inc has removed all its “Ratings and Reviews” tab from all of its website listings. The apparently intended move, came just two days after the brand has launched the new 16-inch Macbook Pro.

Apple Removes its own Product Ratings

Archived versions of the webpage also displays that the change was taken between November 16 and November 17. In the meantime, this change was observed in major countries such as US, UK as well as Australia.

On the other hand, user reviews and testimonials offered new buyers more insight into the product they are in the view of purchasing, often offering major details, pseudo-features or else even the flaws that companies miss out on. Eliminating the complete section from the website doesn’t seems to be well at all.

Apple seems to took the ratings down in order to stop hate-spewing reviews. At the same time, the brand has often faced poor criticism from ‘Apple Haters’.

User reviews basically offers a kind of transparency with the products. On the other hand, it also gives customers a chance to study the potential qualms that other users experienced with a product in advance of buying them. At present, that they’ve been fully washed out of the website, we still don’t know what kind of message does that send to customers of its products

It might possibly took its ratings down in an effort to stop hateful reviews. Also, recently the Apple TV’s original series The Morning Show was subjected to many of bad reviews, most of them coming from “Apple haters” as shown in Recode’s interview with the director of the show.

In the meantime, we also think that the move is likely going to be temporary, as well as the section should be up once again very soon.
