A racial statement by an American student has shaken the entire community on an online social media platform “Yik Yak. Yik Yak is a social media platform that serves as a community-discussion site for users within a 5-mile radius. Lately, a student of the Arkansas State University was somewhere, might be a college trip, and a derogatory comment was uploaded on the app. As a result, people of the African-American community went offended. As far as we know, the alleged student made a racial comment specifically directed toward the nine National Pan-Hellenic Council Greek Organization. This news has sought the attention of the people not only the Arkansas State University but also in the whole of America. People in the black community are denouncing the comment of the suspected student.
In response to the racial comment of the student, the Arkansas State University has decided to take strict actions against him as he is liable to be punished so that he may learn from his mistakes. As far as a senior authority of the Arkansas State University has stated that the earlier comment was intended to order the student to get back to their boats so that the further planning could be executed. The earlier comment was “get back to the boat” for the Afro-American students. The earlier comment was valid as there was nothing wrong with it.
‘Black Is a Disease
But the later comment by someone made for the black students created a problem as that was wrong and derogatory to the black students. The second comment was “Black is a disease” which surged people to show their wrath. However, the Arkansas State University has expressed that all the students are fine but the black students are protesting so that the aftermath of this derogatory comment may come in their favour. More than that, it is the protest for their equal status and respect so that they feel safe as well as equal to others.
It has been expressed that the racial statement has been made by a member of the National Pan-Hellenic Council Organization. The Arkansas State University condemn the statements recently made about the Afro-American students and also condemn the member of NPHC for his shameful comment on the concerned students. Arkansas State University does not accept such mischiefs, hence the guilty person is liable to an adequate punishment so that people may learn from this mistake and consider all the students to an equal status.
