During a press conference along with Mr. Kejriwal, AAP leader Manish Sisodia said, “We will be holding the oath-taking ceremony on Sunday at 10 am… Everyone in Delhi is invited to come and bless their son, their brother, Arvind Kejriwal and take an oath for a better Delhi.”

According to the final figures released by the Election Commission, the AAP won in 62 of the 70 seats with a total vote share of 53.57 percent. The BJP emerged victorious in the remaining eight seats, getting 38.51 percent of the total votes. Congress could not even manage a single seat and ended with a 4.26 percent vote share.

Acknowledging the mandate from Delhi, Kejriwal, flanked by his wife, daughter, and senior party leaders, said in a brief thank you address at the party’s headquarters, “Dilliwalon, Ghazab Kar Diya Aapne (Delhiites, you have done the impossible). I love you.” He thanked it for reposing its faith in its son and added that AAP’s victory will give birth to “kaam ki rajneeti (politics of work)”.

He said, “It is the beginning of a new kind of politics today. This is a very auspicious message for the country and the politics of work can only take our country to the 21st century. It is a victory for Bharat Mata (Mother India).”

Meanwhile, the NDA ally Lok Janshakti Party said that the results of Delhi assembly elections prove that people reward those who work.

On the other hand, Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari, whose sixth sense told him that the party will form the government, rejected the charge of opposition parties that his party fought the polls on a “divisive” agenda. He said, “We never do politics of hate but we are still against the blockage of roads for 60 days as it leads to the inconvenience of people. We will review the results and the reasons behind our defeat. I’m the Delhi BJP president, so I take the responsibility.”

PM Modi congratulated Kejriwal for his party’s win and wished him “the very best” in fulfilling the aspirations of the people. He tweeted, “Congratulations to AAP and Shri Arvind Kejriwal Ji for the victory in the Delhi assembly elections. Wishing them the very best in fulfilling the aspirations of the people of Delhi.”
