Deepika Kumari and Atanu Das, who is real-life couple won the title of individual gold medals at the Archery World Cup stage 1. While the country presented their two best ever performers in the World Cup. The couple won three gold medals including a bronze in the first stage of the tournament. Atanu Das and Deepika Kumari tied the knot on June 30, 2020, in Ranchi. They automatically entered for the World Cup final of Archery after the impressive winning. The Former world’s number one player Deepika won the game against Mexico’s player Alejandra Valencia by 7-3 points and won her 3rd World Cup gold. During this cup, Atanu Das knock out Spanish player Daniel Castro by 6-4 points and won his World Cup medal.
Atanu Das said during a meeting with sources,” We travel with each other, we train with each other, and participated together and won together. She knows everything what I like and I also know about her what she likes”. A husband said about her wife at a conference. Maybe, it was the best World Cup complete with 2 players of Indian’s archers and with one gold medal, the International calendar brought year event on the top for the two years. The Twitter page of World Archery shared a beautiful victory picture of the couple and wrote,” India’s Atanu Das and Deepika Kumari are now automatically qualified for the 2021 Hyundai #Archery World Cup Final!”.
In another tweet, World Archery wrote,” Indian couple Das, won Hyundai Archery World Cup stage in Guatemala City.
Also, it was the best India ever scores of men’s result after the Jayanta Talukdar won the victory in Croatia way which was held in 2009. Deepika Kumari said,” After a very long time, I appeared in the finals. It was a great feeling and at that moment, I was glad and jumpy too but it gives me some confidence and pushes me further to show some better performance”.
