Bangladesh Police killed 9 Islamist Militants Planning Large Attack Dhaka Hideout

In the Tuesday morning, The Bangladesh Police raided the militant hideout in Dhaka and killed 9 suspected Islamic extremists in a gunbattle.

DC of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Masud Ahmed told media that 9 Islamist militants were killed in a two hour-long gunbattle. He also added that another extremist was shot and arrested during the raid in Kalyanpur neighbourhood.

The Police officer said that  suspects threw a small hand bomb at officers who were conducting a block raid in the area after midnight then the police condoned off the apartment of Building.

The police said that the Islamist terrorist shouted Allah Hu Akbar and exchange the gunfire continuously throughout the night. The apartment was sealed off by the hundreds of heavily armed force police and the elite security force Rapid Action Battalion.

ACP of Dhaka, Sheikh Maruf Hasan who led the raid and told media that Tuesday morning, police launched operation Storm 26 and was able to destroy the militants. The police force now are sweeping the place.

All 10 are related to Islamist extremists but did not confirmed which group they belonged to.

Hasan said that their dress and their slogans before and after the attack all proved that they are members of Islamist militant force. He added that they were wearing black tunics and shouting Allahu Akbar.

Earlier, five armed men stormed in the cafe in the diplomatic zone of Dhaka. They killed at least 20 hostages including 18 foreigners in the attack claimed by the Islamic State group.
