BMC POLLS: BJP to contest 195 seats; leaves 32 for allies :- On Jan 26, Uddhav had officially announced that his party will contest the civic polls in the state, as speculations about forging of ties with its ally BJP. The BMC polls held in 2012, BJP is contesting this election sans any tie-up with old ally Shiv Sena.
The reporter says that The BJP will contest 195 seats in the 227-member (BMC), the elections that are scheduled on Feb 21.
“Ashish Shelar” Mumbai BJP president declared the list of candidates last night. The party has left only 32 seats for allies.
Today is the last day to fill nominations for polls to India’s richest civic body. Some nominations shown on the list have raised eyebrows as they are kin of BJP leaders. Kirit Somaiya’s son Neil too has been nominated from ward 108 in Mulund. Deepak Thakur, son of Maharashtra’s Minister of State for (WCD) Vidya Thakur, will contest from ward no 50 in Goregaon.Apart, BJP chief Ashish Shelar’s brother Vinod will contest from ward 51.
Aakash is politically active in the area and announced a BJP nominee on best committee. In Colaba, legislator Raj Purohit’s son Aakash announced the party candidate from ward no 222.Vinod is a sitting corporator from Malad, but his ward is now reserved for women.
The BJP has nominated Yogiraj Dhabhalkar in ward no 60. He is legislator Bharti Lavekar’s nephew.Who will win? Shocking for Amit Shah who created the Marathi Gujju divide after Modi victory wide. NCP and Congress still enjoy their respective bases which are still unbreakable.
It is also said that MNS will play spoiler again. I can see a hung house for BMC clearly.
