Brandon Stanley: All-or-Nothing for the Chargers

Starting this Thursday, August 4, we can enjoy the NFL preseason, and one of the teams looking to take the limelight this time is the Los Angeles Chargers using their two key players: the young quarterback Justin Herbert and their Head Coach Brandon Stanley.

All Chargers odds favour this coach, strongly criticised for his extremely aggressive style of play. However, there’s no denying that he has brought us memorable games during his tenure with the team, including the game against the Vegas Raiders at the end of the regular season.

Although heavily criticised, the coach represents an aggressive and flashy style of play that the Chargers had long forgotten, adding power to a game that has become extremely defensive. This, coupled with the fact that the coach has already managed to reach one year with the team, makes us think of the strength they’ll have for this season.

The Secret Lies in Trust

Brandon Stanley indicates that one of the big advantages of this year is that he has already had some time with the team. Aggressive plays need a great deal of confidence from everyone involved, and this time they already have a full year working together to reinforce the belief in what they’re doing.

While we can’t deny that time may have taken a toll on the players’ hopes, other factors have clearly benefited the team. The Chargers used this year to bolster their lines, obtaining high-calibre players like Khalil Mack.

With the addition of one of the best pass rushers in the NFL, there’s obviously a reason to believe this will be a winning year for the Chargers.

Justin Herbert Will Not Lose to Anyone

Quarterback Justin Herbert also says that because there’s more confidence in the offensive style of play, he’s been able to dedicate his time to fundamentals again.

The 2020 offensive rookie has stated that despite being considered one of the league’s surprises, the past year has been a period of adjustment to the new coach. With the principles of the plays now in place, the fundamentals can once again be polished so the team can work to perfection.

Finally, Herbert points out that the arrival of the new players has awakened a spark within the team – competitiveness. Since no one wants to feel left out, it’s no surprise that they’re going for all or nothing this year.
