Cauvery Issue: 4,000 Cops Shielded Chennai IPL venue, few protesters arrested

Well, reports are saying that Cauvery issue is getting serious day by day. Even, on Tuesday few protestors were arrested by the police who were the members of fringe group Tamilzhar Vazhvu Urmayi Katchi and the tried to stage a protest over the Cauvery water-sharing issue outside the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai.  You all should know that whole protest is taking place hours before the start of Indian Premier League match between the Chennai Super King and the Kolkata Knight Riders today.

You can say that several political parties and fringe groups in Tamil Nadu are demanding the cancellation or postponement of the seven IPL matches in Chennai till the Centre constitutes a board to share the waters of the Cauvery between the state and Karnataka in keeping with a February order of the Supreme Court. Overall, this thing had nothing to do with IPL but we know why these parties are making this is a big issue and combing with IPL.

Also, the reports are coming that around 4,000 policemen are on security duty in and around the stadium and roads leading up to it. Also, the Chennai Police have a thrown a four-tier security cordon around the stadium at Chepauk to prevent any fringe group to do anything stupid and that’s great. Also, the police said that no one who wearing a black shirt or tunic will not be allowed inside the stadium.

Also, the TNCA, Tamil Nadu Cricket Association which is organizing the IPL matches said that spectators not to bring posters, remote control car-key or any electronic devices, bags, briefcases, pagers, radios, digital diaries, laptops, computers, tape-recorders and even binoculars into the stadium. Also, the said that nothing is going to happen during the match and they are proving the high security.
