Steps to Calculate GATE Scorecard using GATE calculator
Candidates attempting the GATE Examination just have to calculate their probable GATE score by using the GATE Calculator. Here are given the GATE Calculator to normalise the score. Check out these steps.
This formula can be used to calculate the score for every section in the total results and there will be the group for the same such as CE, ME, CS, EE, EC and only this system can be used to calculate the normalisation marks. After the calculation of the GATE score by the officials using this same formula, authorities will reveal the rank (AIR) also for the GATE cut off marks.
Calculation of Normalized Marks for CE, CS, EC, EE and ME papers (multi-session papers)
For these papers, a suitable normalisation is applied which is enough to account any variation in the difficulty levels of the question papers which comes from the different sections.
Further, it is also ensured that for the same multi-session paper, a large number of students and candidates allotted in each session is of the same order of amount. Based on the above, and considering various normalisation methods, the committee arrived at this formula for calculating the normalised marks for the multi-session papers.
After the declaration of results, GATE Scorecards or result can be downloaded by:
(a) Candidates of reservations category whose marks are greater than or equal to the qualifying mark of SC/ST/PwD candidates in their respective papers, and
(b) All other candidates whose marks are greater than or equal to the qualifying mark of OBC (NCL) candidates in their exams.
