CM Naveen Patnaik ordered Odisha schools, colleges to remain shut till June 17 amid COVID-19 pandemic crises :- In the wake of on-going COVID-19 pandemic, the Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik has ordered all the schools and colleges in the state to remain closed till June 17.As the number of coronavirus positive cases has been increasing day by day in India, the Odisha state government has also recently announced an extension of the lockdown.

In addition to that, the state will be under lockdown till April 30, 2020, as per to CM orders. The countrywide lockdown in India was imposed on March 24, 2020, in order to stop the spread of Coronavirus in the country.

Previously, the state government has also announced that the students of Classes 1st to 9th and 11th are going to be promoted to the next class without even appearing for their yearly examination.

Odisha Cabinet decides for postponement along with recommending to union government for doing the same, the state government stated in a statement.

Odisha Chief Minister of Naveen Patnaik said in a recent statement, “COVID-19 is the biggest threat that the human race has faced in more than a century. Life is not going to be the same ever. All of us must understand this as well as face it bravely together. With our sacrifice and with the blessing of Lord Jagannath, this time shall pass as well,”

In the meantime, the state has reported total number of 42 positive so far. On the other hand, the government of Odisha is the first state to extend the lockdown time period to April 30, 2020. On March 22 when the PM had declared Janata Curfew for a day, the Odisha state government had also announced a week-long lockdown on the same day as well.
