The New Zeland selectors announced the One Day Team that will face the India for the five-match ODI series in next month. The 15 man squad was announced on Monday, and it includes numbers of surprise calls.
New Zeland has recalled all-rounder Corey Anderson that missed the Test series due to injury. Anderson has not played international cricket for the quite long time due to his back injury. But, he proved his fitness in the last week match against the Emerging XI at Christchurch.
Apart from Anderson, another all-rounder James Neesham and Anton Devcich has been recalled to the one-day side. Jimmy Neesham has also been included in the Test squad against India.
Anton Devcich has recalled on the back of its consistent performance in the domestic List A matches for New Zeland domestic team. Also, test specialist BJ Watling has also been recalled to the side on the back of his consistent performance in the Test matches.
Gavin Larsen, the chief selector of New Zealand Cricket team, informed media wing that ” Anderson has performed brilliantly throughout his rehab process and shown a lot of improvement, and the credit must be given to him because he has done a lot of hard work.”
