The Bharatiya Janata Party has again postponed its booth level workers’ meet which was scheduled on Sunday at Ramlila Maidan in view of the swearing-in ceremony of the new chief minister of UP for the same day in Lucknow.
The convention in Delhi ahead of the civic polls was to be addressed by the party president Amit as well as development minister Venkaiah Naidu to motivate party for better booth level election management.
The meeting will now take place on March 25 and this is the second time the event date has been extended.
A week ago, it was expected on 6th March but had to be deferred as Shah, BJP chief Manoj Tiwari and various party leaders were busy in campaigning in Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.
Ravinder Gupta as the general secretary said- the meeting at Ramlila garden has been postponed as Shah and Naidu would be present in the oath-taking ceremony with senior party leadership in Lucknow.
“Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari said- “I am going to attend the function too.”
The BJP was all set to start the campaign for civic polls in the capital. More than 60,000 party workers were invited to participate in the campaign.
Also, a team of 375 senior workers formed for booth management were also to be present at the convention.
