Recently, Delhi Government has issued a show-cause notice to the management of the Mirambika Progress School in connection with the shutting down of classes without any permission.
The government said in the notice by Violation of the Delhi School Education Rules, “As regards the allegation that the school is not making efforts to increase students’ enrolment, the inspection team has quickly observed that the grievances have substance.”
This is evident from student enrollment in the last three years -170 for classes nursery to X in 2k14-15, 162 in 2k15-16 and 119 from 2k16 till date.
“The decrease in enrollment substantiates the allegations made by the parents,” it said, asking the school to reply within three to four days.
The AAP government last week recommended a CBI probe into the alleged discrepancies in shifting of Mirambika Progress School to a unique location and the role of some education department officials in it.
Manish Sisodia as Deputy Chief Minister had earlier this month ordered the suspension of some Directorate of Education officials for submitting a fake affidavit in the high court in the school’s case dating back to 2k15.
Many groups of parents had moved court against the school management’s decision to shift children out from its original 9.84-acre premises for which recognition was given in 1988 to its present location in Aurobindo Ashram area.
