After a severe Earthquake in Nepal, withing week Island Andaman & Nicobar also felt Earthquake of 5.4 magnitude, at around 2.30 pm. Fortunately good news also because no loss of property or life has been reported and no tsunami alert, said expert. Barely week passed from earthquake in Nepal and there another quake in island it seems nature is anger because of causing harm to it. and its time to pay back. Though its a result of of a sudden release of energy in the Earth’s crustthat creates seismic waves.
Andaman and Nicobar Islands felt 5.4 Magnitude Earthquake
The moderate intensity earthquake jolted the Andaman islands at 2:29 pm, said an official of the India Meteorological Department.
According to immediate reports, the epicentre of theearthquake is 135km south-west of Port Blair.The depth of the earthquake was measured as 10 km. There is no Tsunami warning, says Experts.
“We are monitoring the quake in Andaman. The quake was not that strong that it can cause any damage,” says GL Gautam, Met Director.
Reports of damage to properties or life have not been received so far, it said.
A 6.7 magnitude quake hit off Papua New Guinea yesterday and another measuring 7.1 magnitude today, but there were no reports of any serious damage.
