Eid to be celebrated across India on Saturday, in Kerala on Friday after moon sighting in Kozhikode

The famous festival, Eid-ul-Fitr, which also marks the culmination of the fasting and holy month of Ramzan, is all set to rejoice, on this Saturday across the whole nation except Kerala.

This is so because the moon was not seen in the New Delhi on Thursday, so Eid will be going to celebrates in the national capita, Delhi on Saturday.

on a Thursday night, Imam Syed Ahmed Bukhari of the Jama Masjid Shahi declared, post a meeting of the moon-sighting committee, a senior official at the city’s historic mosque told.

“The moon was not sighted on Thursday. So, that means the Eid will be celebrated on Saturday in Delhi and several other parts of the country,” he said.

Eid will be celebrated on Friday, In Kerala, because the moon was sighted in Kozhikode, a top cleric told.

Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the end of the fasting month of Ramzan, is also regarded as the symbol of peace and brotherhood.

The festival is marked with feasts and the faithful offers prayers at mosques and idgahs in order to seek blessings of the divine from the Almighty.

On the day of Eid people and children dress up in their traditional fineries which also mark the festival that spreads the message of brotherhood and communal harmony and amity in the whole globe.
