Farmer’s children to do Hunger Strike on Independence Day

On the occasion of Independence Day celebration, the children of farmers will observe a day-long hunger strike at various places in Maharashtra to seek repeal of ‘anti-farmer’ laws in the state.

Bhumiputra Sangharsh Vahini president Abhijeet Patil Falke told the media that on 15th August, we have decided to hold ‘atmaklesh andolan’ at Azad Maidan to demand that farmers be freed from the clutches of the legislations which have enslaved them.

A Pune-based IT entrepreneur, Falke said that Government has cheated the state farmers and failed to resolve any of the issues affecting them.

He also said that the children of farmers will join the hunger strike on I-Day in large numbers all over the state Maharashtra.

Vahini leader Amar Habib said that the Government of Maharashtra had failed to repeal 3 legislation – land acquisition act, essential services act and land ceiling act.
