Filipino Japanese 19-years-old Yuka Saso Won US Women’s Open Full Match Scorecard & Preview

A 19-years-old Filipino Japanese and Japan LPGA Tour player, Yuka Saso won the title of Women’s Open this Sunday after beating the Nasa Hataoka in the three-hole score, the pair finished the tied round final under 4. After winning this title, Yuka Saso has become the first player Filipino who won the major of Golf this week. At the age of 19 years, 11 months, and 17 days, she becomes the youngest winner of the US Women’s Open in history and matched to Inbee Park. The South Korean player was born in 2008.

While, according to the previous information, there are only two women who belong to Japanese citizens and won this title before – player Hisako Higuchi won in the 1977 LPGA Championship and expect her, Hinako Shibuno won in the Women’s British Open in 2019. After completing the final stage at San Francisco’s Olympic Club, they are ahead of one stroke of the leader from American Lexi Thompson, Hataoka and Saso stayed deadlocked by the last two playoff holes in the game and that was parred by both of them.

In the game, when the nice hit shot was taken by Saso which was played in the tournament and reached the third playoff hole. She dropped down to become the first women’s major winner of the Women’s Championship Open 2021 from the Philippines and presented the nation into the competition.

Yuka Saso said,” I was very happy, and thankful that I am the part of this tournament and able to play this match”. Saso scored back-t0-back in the final round to made her playoff in the tournament. She added that I also thanked my family and without them, I even can’t think about being here.

With her victory, now, Saso is expecting to become a part of the Summer’s Tokyo Olympics and play for the Philippines. Also, the player won two Gold Medals for the country in the Asian Games of 2018. While she won one Gold in an individual event and another one won in a team event.

Later, Yuka Saso became a pro in 2019 after getting her LGPA card from Japan and start working in the practice facility of Masahi Ozaki. At the moment, Saso earned two titles in the Japanese tour and stood in the fourth position on the list of money in this season.

In this year, the US Women’s Open was the first LPGA Tournament and the tournament was opened publicly after the Covid-19 pandemic. The first and oldest match of Women’s major was held in 1946.
