A fire broke out in an operation theatre in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) hospital in Delhi on Tuesday, news agency ANI reported. Four fire engines have been sent to the spot.
The fire broke out at the trauma centre inside AIIMS. Pictures from the scene showed the buildings engulfed in smoke and firefighters trying to put out the blaze.

A fire broke out in operation theatre of AIIMS Trauma Centre in Delhi on Sunday. According to reports, at least 20 fire tenders have been rushed to the spot. As of now, the entire wing has been evacuated and there’s no report of casualty so far. Times Now has learnt that the fire broke out due to an electrical short-circuit in one of the operation theatres at the hospital.

Reports suggest, no patient was in the operation theatre when the fire was first detected. The authorities were quick on their feet and every patient was taken out of the building in time.
