First Internet Hotline in India to Tackle Surge in Child Porn

The India has moved one step closer to being the sexually harassed free country. On Monday, the first Internet hotline to enable the people to motivate to reports against online child pornography.

The co-director of Indian anti-trafficking charity, Siddharth Pillai that is co-directing the initiative told media wing that it would the first step to remove the online picture. Siddharth further added that ” first report, then block and then take down. The blocking will be made withing the few hours of reports and then, experts will work on taking the content down will take few weeks the country where the servers are hosted.

Meanwhile, a hotline is just like a standard form that is available in bot Hindi and English language and it can be filled by a public, police, internet companies and victims. This initiative is taken after keeping in mind the tremendous rise in the number of Child sexual abuse and it is now considered to be the Global problem.

This global issue is quite high in North America and Europe; which is quite obvious as the net service in these countries are internet services are quite high. Although, there is no definite numbers of victims of Child pornography in India.

According to the sources, there were 96 reports were registered in the year 2015, were children were sexually abused and these reports are quite high as compared to the reports in 2014 years.

Britain’s Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), believed that the hotline for Child Pornography is much needed in India. Everyone knows that India is a developing country, and soon, they will develop themselves with the internet services and then, the chances of Child pornography cases might rise.
