First Premiere Siddhartha Basu’s is Back New quiz Series Show ‘News Wiz’

Now India Today is taking a blow at filling that judgment gap by producing a TV show that probably will fascinate back the school going a lot with a demanding and brand new television quiz show named News Wiz is Slated to launch on 24 July, the thirteen episode long show will be hosted by senior journalist and a fervent quiz buff himself Rajdeep Sardesai. Something along the series of The Bournvita Quiz Contest which in its early days display on Sunday mornings on TV.

With a span of an hour, News Wiz  will air every Sunday at 11 am.

Produced by Anita and Siddhartha Basu of Big working who brought mega quiz series like Kaun Banega Crorepati, Dus Ka Dum, Mastermind India, University Challenge, etc, News Wiz will have the brilliant and the best-informed scholars from 27 schools around the country battle for the title of India Today News Wiz 2016.

“News is learning and learning is a news. But today there is a lot of distortion going on as there are so many mechanisms – TV, newspapers, magazines and most importantly the internet. How do people get to understand about everything, particularly young people,”

Adding further, “They shortlisted these 27 schools from close to 1000 admission they received. Some of the schools – approx  400 – entered via an online test while the others with the regular way. At the end, They chose 60 schools, and of these, after interviews and extra elimination system, They arrived at 27. These 27 schools will now challenge each other.”

The contest is open to class IX to class XII  students. Other than the title, there are various prizes up for snatch but only for the best of the best.

Sardesai  is pretty kicked up about hosting News Wiz. Says “It was a dream to anchor a quiz show. One of my honorable moment as a young school boy was winning the Bournvita Quiz competition at the age of 12 or 13. This was with Ameen Sayani for a radio program. He is pleased to be the quiz master on a news TV show.”

Sardesai firmly believes that youngsters will begin taking the concern in the news by this show.

A promo has been released featuring Salman Khan pretend a question to viewers. He will also be observed in the opening episode where the spectators can ask questions to the Bollywood star.

Kudos to Basu, Sardesai and their team for bringing the show back.
