Good news for the boxing enthusiast, former boxing heavyweight champion Mike Tyson is all set to make a comeback to the ring after fifteen years. In his comeback match, Tyson (50-6), 54, is scheduled to fight in an eight-round exhibition against Roy Jones Jr. on September 12.

The American former professional boxer played his last match fifteen years ago in the year 2005. He lost that match against Kevin McBride.

Mike Tyson competed from 1985 to 2005 and reigned the title of world heavyweight champion from 1987 to 1990. He was the first heavyweight boxer ever to hold the WBA, WBC, and IBF titles at the same time. He also holds the record of the youngest boxer to win a heavyweight title.

The announcement of his return was made by Tyson himself on his Legends Only League website. The 51-year-old fighter wrote, “It’s just going to be amazing,”

To date, Tyson is considered to be one of the best heavyweights of all time and he was popularly known for his fierce and intimidating boxing style. In his early career in the boxing, he was Nicknamed “Iron” and “Kid Dynamite”, later on, he was acknowledged as “The Baddest Man on the Planet”. Mike Tyson due to his several achievements has been inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame as well as into the World Boxing Hall of Fame.

Talking about his opponent, Roy Jones Jr., he has won the titles in the middleweight, super middleweight as well as in the light heavyweight before moving up to win the heavyweight title in the year 2003. He became the first former middleweight champion to achieve such a feat in 106 years.

Coming to the event, it is going to air on pay-per-view as well as on the social media music platform named Triller. The announcement of further matches on the card and musical entertainment is going to be declared in the coming weeks.
