Global Teacher Prize 2020 Winner Ranjitsinh Disale Joins Global Student Prize Panel Check Wiki & Bio

Ranjitsinh Disale, the winner of Global Teacher Prize last year has now joined the new Global Student Prize Academy together with the likes of Hollywood actors named Ashton Kutcher as well as Mila Kunis. Disale is a primary school teacher from the village in Solapur district of Maharashtra named ‘Paritewadi’. Last year in 2020, he was awarded the USD 1 Million prize and now Disale is all set to join the USD 50,000 sister award to the Global Teacher Prize judging panel that has been launched by the Varkey Foundation along with the Chegg.org which is a non-profit organisation of education technology company named Chegg.

Talking about the Global Student Prize, this new platform has been created for highlighting the efforts of great students who have made an impact on learning as well as on the society at a large scale.

Ranjitsinh Disale said that the students have boundless talent and potential which can make the “world at their feet” if the right education is provided to them and “we let them know how valued they are.” He further added in his statement that in order to make this possible, the Global Student Prize has been launched in order to bring out the stories of such students and to hear their voices.

He said that he is very proud to join the academy for supporting such an inspirational cause. Disale has joined the actors Kutcher as well as Kunis as the member of the academy. Along with them in the Julie Ertz, who is the US women’s national soccer team player, and her husband Zach Ertz, who is the Philadelphia Eagles defensive midfielder has been also a part of the Global Student Prize Academy.

The members have been chosen on the basis of their history where they have mentored the students in their studies or in their careers, or else they have campaigned on student issues otherwise having skills or expertise in education.

The prize is also going to be narrowed down to a Top 50 shortlist as well as the Top 10 finalists, along with the winner who has been selected from the top 10 finalists list by the Global Student Prize Academy.

This event is open for all the students situated across the world. However, they must be at least 16 years old and have enrolled in any academic institution or else at a training and skill programme. The closing entry date for the same is on May 16, 2021. In addition to that, the students enrolled in online courses along with the part-time students are also eligible to join the event.

All the members of the Academy also consist of education as well as NGO leaders across the world, and they are going to pick the final winner who will take the Chegg.org Global Student Prize winning title. The name of the winner is likely to be announced this year in Paris in November 2021.
