A car collided with a truck on Limbdi-Ahmedabad Highway in Surendranagar district of Gujarat early Saturday morning, killing five people and injuring one.

The accident took place near Kanpara village on Friday night, when the speeding car traveling towards Gandhinagar, lost its control and collided with the truck going forward.
According to the police, while four persons died on the spot, another succumbed to his injuries at a hospital. The injured has been admitted to the nearest hospital and is undergoing treatment.
The officials further added that the deceased include three members of a family from Jamkhambhaliya and drivers of both the vehicles.
According to statistics, every year around 1.5 lakh people across the country lose their lives in road accidents which means around 400 people die in accidents in a day. In order to save people from such accidents, the Modi government had recently come up with a revised motor vehicle act. The bill provided for 10 times more traffic challans than earlier rules.
Meanwhile, it is still to be known that how this car came on the roads and how so many people were present in a vehicle when the lockdown has been imposed by the government across the country in view of the danger of the coronavirus.
The investigation is underway and more details are awaited.
