Gujarat government decides to give 10% quota. Gujarat ministers finally agree to give allowance for all on- reserved categories based on their annual income.
Anandiben makes a statement to media that reservation will be given to all whose income is less than six lakh or six lakh. This decision is taken after a meeting between BJP chief Amit Shah chief minister Anandiben Patel and unit head of Gujarat Vijay Rupani.
These leaders decided to give quota in Gujarat. The notification of reservation will be issued on 1 May by Gujarat government. So many members of Patel communists protested for reservation in jobs. Everyone was waiting for Government’s decision. BJP leader Rupani said that so many families and children from non-reserved caste faced difficulty in getting government jobs and a good education.
Rupani also added that if there will be any legal issues with it, then BJP government will fight over it. And if they will need to go to Supreme court then they would not take a step back over it.
Well, let me tell you which community will get quota under this new decision: – Patidars, Brahmins, and Baniyas, among others. These all will get 10% quota.
The government must try to attract politically Patidar community. Anandiben Administration earlier announced 1000 crore package for economic backward class so that they could get a higher education. Government always made an effort to attempt to attract the backward class peoples.
On the other hand, after this decision Congress was not so impressed, they said that the EBC quota should be 20%, not 10%. According to them, the upper limits should be 10 lakh per annum. Congress, legislative party leader Shankersinh Vaghela, said that Congress had always demanded EBC reservation from the very beginning of the Patidar agitation.
