Sirsa: According to a report of ANI on Sunday, a top Haryana minister donated Rs 50 lakh from his discretionary fund to a sect of Dera Sacha Sauda.
Haryana sports minister Anil Vij travelled to Sirsa, Haryana to attend a program ‘Tiranga Rumal Chhu’ in the presence of Gurmeet Singh on Saturday, when he praised the controversial efforts of Dera Sacha Sauda to establish sports facilities.
In a video tweeted by ANI, sports minister of Haryana Anil Vij saying that to promote sports facilities, I donate Rs 50 lakh from my fund. He also added that I am in charge of this money. So I have given Rs 50 lakh from my discretionary fund to the sect for the sports stadium.
The Dera sect has been in the news, often for its colourful and controversial leader Singh, who commands a following that runs into millions.
According to the Hindi daily Dainik Jagran, Haryana sports minister Anil Vij said that I hope in the next Olympic games, players from the Dera win us medals.
