Redmi has already entered the budget flagship segment with its Redmi K20 series a few months ago. While the Redmi K20 and the K20 Pro were a total hit, the popular Chinese smartphone manufacturer is already working on its successor, the Redmi K30 series. A popular tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore suggested the launch timelines on Twitter for the Redmi K30 and K30 Pro, stating that Redmi K30 will launch before the end of this year, meaning we might hear an announcement over the next few weeks. However, he didn’t reveal his source of information.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi has already confirmed that it’s currently working on its Redmi K30 series. The Redmi General Manager, Lu Weibing, had revealed that Redmi K30 will be a cheaper device as compared to the Redmi K30 Pro.

Xiaomi further recently confirmed that its first 5G smartphone from the sub-brand Redmi is going to be the Redmi K30 which means the Redmi K30 will be an affordable 5G phone for the Indian market as 5G services set to roll out in India in 2020.

Reports on the popular Chinese microblogging site, Weibo has also suggested that the Redmi K30 will run on a MediaTek SoC to offer the latest generation cellular connectivity. This will make Redmi K30 the second Smartphone by Redmi to feature a MediaTek SoC. Apart from this, it is rumoured that the Redmi K30 will come with a punch-hole display, which means there won’t be a pop-up selfie camera.

Redmi K20 is powered by a Snapdragon 730 SoC and sports a 6.39-inch AMOLED display, while the Redmi K20 Pro features a flagship Snapdragon 855 SoC and also brings a similar AMOLED screen. The K20 is currently available starting at Rs 19,999 in India and the Redmi K20 Pro retails at Rs 25,999.

Meanwhile, Redmi hasn’t revealed any official information surrounding the launch of its Redmi K30 series.
