The Korea Manufacturers’ Association had shared the developments made in the area of the fuel cell technology and touched upon the global success of the fuel cell electric vehicle — Hyundai Nexo — at the first International Organisation of Motor Vehicles Manufacturer Conference held in India from November 2019.

S S Kim, Managing Director and CEO, Hyundai Motor India said, “Progress for humanity with zero emission mobility is our responsibility and part of the vision to make a long-term positive transformation for our future generations. Hyundai Nexo Specification Features

On Tuesday, Hyundai announced its “Strategy 2025”. As a part of the same, the company aims to sell 670,000 electric vehicles annually. The company said in a statement, “The goal is to electrify most new models by 2030 in key markets such as Korea, US, China, and Europe, with emerging markets such as India and Brazil following suit by 2035.”

The fuel cell electric vehicles do not emit greenhouse gases as they filter the air during the drive. When air filters through the FCEV, 99.9 per cent of particulates are purified.

The Nexo uses hydrogen fuel cells to power an electric motor and has a range of over 600km on the WLTP test cycle (world harmonised light-duty vehicles test procedure) in Europe. As per Hyundai Motor India’s MD and CEO, the Nexo could deliver over 1000km in India.
