Well, Hood news is coming out for the Indian fast Swing bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar as per the reports his ICC ranking jumped eight places to 22 because of his first impressive innings against South Africa. Now, the reports are coming to the sad news is also coming for the Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara because they both slipped in the ICC ranking ladder. Overall, the first test didn’t went that good for the Indian team in South Africa.
Now, if we talk about Kumar then we can say that he had taken six wickets across two South African innings in the first Test, which India lost by 72 runs. Even, though Indian team lost the match Bhuva somehow managed to perform better than any other player and that made his ranking much better. In the rankings for the Test batsmen, Australia’s Steve Smith remained on 947 points in the first position, but there was some movement just behind him.
ICC Test Ranking
Indian Skipper who just got married lost his ICC ranking from the second position and to his England counterpart Joe Root and was placed third ahead of Kane Williamson, who was ranked third before. Reports are coming that Root earned 26 points from the Sydney Test, in which he was dismissed once while scoring 141 runs, but Kohli dropped 13 points after his contributions of five and 28 at Newlands.
Also, the reports are coming that Pujara lost around 25 points because of the poor performance. South Africa’s Hashim Amla and Dean Elgar slipped three places apiece to finish in 10th and 16th positions respectively, but AB de Villiers jumped five places to 13th with a slot in the top-10 firmly within his sights. Overall, the whole first match was disappointed and we aren’t sure about the lots rankings are going to be good or bad in upcoming days.
