As per the reports, the Indian railway is taken back the online service charges on all type of railway ticket booking until March 2018. Even, the reports are saying that government is in a mood to encourage digital modes of booking following demonetization in November 2016. Even, the Indian railway had earlier waived off the service charge till June 30 and then extended it to September 30. Now, they are in a mood to make this service extend up to March 2018.

Also, the reports are saying that The move has been taken to The Indian Railways had earlier In a September 29 missive to the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), the Railway Board directed that the benefits be extended till March 2018.
The service charges on booking train tickets online through IRCTC ranges from Rs 20 to 40 per ticket. Almost 33 percent of the IRCTC revenue comes from the service charge collected on online bookings, a senior railway official said.
According to the revenue collection of the last financial year, about Rs 540 crore of IRCTC’s revenue of over Rs 1,500 crore came from ticket bookings. Overall, now we can say that this service is going to make everyone happy because now everyone can feel free towards online ticket booking.
