The main purpose of this rocket is India’s 725.5 kg Cartosat-2 series satellite for the earth observation.

Before this via PSLV in 2008, the ISRO had launched 10 satellites in a single attempt which was successful in it’s goal. There were total 34 attempts till now of which 32 were successful and 1 failure together with 1 partial failure. Till now India has launched 57 foreign satellites successfully.

This time, the satellite is closely similar to the preceding Cartosat-2, 2A and 2B.

The other 19 satellites weighing around a total of 560 kg are from US, Canada, Germany and Indonesia as well as one satellite each from Chennai’s Sathyabama University and another is from College of Engineering, Pune.
The images sent by Cartosat satellite will be valuable for cartographic, urban, rural, coastal land use, water distribution and other applications.
The two out of 20 satellites are one of the 1.5 kgs Sathyabamasat from Sathyabama University will accumulate data on greenhouse gases while the 1 kg Swayam satellite from College of Engineering, Pune will gather point-to-point messaging services to the HAM radio community.
The rocket will explode off from the second launch pad with a total payload of 1,288 kg.
Stay tuned with us for the more information on the mission. Pray, for the mission to be successful. Good Luck! IRSO.
