New Delhi: On Monday morning, 2 policemen suffered injuries in an encounter with alleged criminals near Nehru Place metro station in South Delhi.
The gunbattle took place as the cops chased a wanted criminal – Akbar with a Rs 25,000 reward on him. He was arrested after the shootout.
Fortunately, the exchange of bullets took place at the busy Nehru Place before the metro operations begin and therefore, there were no commuters.
On a tip, the Delhi police acted and laid a trap for the alleged criminal who along with his aide allegedly opened fire when they saw the policemen in bulletproof jackets. At least 13 rounds of bullets were fired.
Akbar was caught alive but his accomplice managed to run away.
